Biography
Since 1960, Robert Reeves has been exploring his passion for astrophotography. After years of learning and practice, Robert obtained a Celestron 8-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and hasn’t looked back since.
Reeves has written many astronomy articles and is also responsible for several published works of his own. His magazine publications include articles for Astronomy Magazine, the Astrograph, the Reflector, Amateur Astronomy Magazine, and the defunct Deep Sky and Deep Sky Journal Magazines. In 1994 Reeves’ book The Superpower Space Race, subtitled "An Explosive Rivalry Through the Solar System", was published by Plenum Publishing in New York. Robert Reeves has written 20 encyclopedia articles about space exploration and co-authored the book The Conquest of Space with Fritz Bronner. In May of 2000, his book, Wide-Field Astrophotography, was published by Willmann-Bell, and was followed in 2005 by the book Introduction to Digital Astrophotography. Robert Reeves latest book was released in May 2006, and is an Introduction to Webcam Astrophotography.
Robert Reeves enjoys speaking at a variety of conventions and astronomy gatherings. His platform for speaking began within the Northeast Independent School District and the Alamo Community College District in San Antonio where he was an astronomy teacher.
